Since the 1950s, the REMO® Ambassador® series has been one of the most popular drumhead lines in the world.
The medium-thickness, single-ply Mylar® foils of the drumheads produce an open, warm and resonant tone that varies across the series from brilliant and bright to focused and mid-range to dark and mellow, depending on the model.
As the world’s leading manufacturer of drumheads, REMO® was instrumental in standardising drum sizes across all manufacturers by the end of the 1960s. What seems completely normal nowadays was a revolution back then: finally, all drumheads fit all drums.
But what about the lovers of old vintage drums that were made before the mid-60s? The new standards no longer fit these drums, and anyone who now owns such a treasure had to search a long time to find a suitable new head.
For this purpose, some of the historically proven REMO® series’ were extended with the Classic Fit models. The wider stepped collar of these models allows the head to adapt to all the challenges posed by old vintage drums: oversized diameters, out-of-round shells, thick and overlapping foils.
The Classic-Fit format is available for various models in the Ambassador®, Diplomat® and Powerstroke® P3 series.
REMO®-Ambassador® heads are excellent for soft to medium loud playing styles in live and studio. They fit into a huge range of musical styles, such as pop, jazz, fusion, blues, R&B, country, folk or acoustic music.
