The Lee Oskar Melody Maker is the best harmonica for R&B, REGGAE, LATIN, POP and JAZZ STANDARDS.
Its altered tuning makes it much easier to play single-note melodies with an expressive sound than on a Major Diatonic harmonica. It is marked for keys in the 2nd position.
Not recommended for blues!

MELODY MAKER
1st position (Straight Harp): Irish, Clave/Afro music.
2nd position (Cross Harp): R&B, Country, Reggae, Pop, Jazz, Latin.
Understanding 1st/2nd position:
1st position (Straight Harp) begins with an exhaled blow note (blow), 2nd position (Cross Harp) begins with an inhaled draw note (draw). Although it is possible to play other positions on a harmonica and thus many different keys, most players only use these first two positions.
Understanding Altered Tuning:
Unlike standard diatonic harmonica tuning, altered tuning changes individual notes on the instrument. This results in different tone material and faster access to certain styles, scales and sounds.
